For some reason, an Asian source has chosen to really squeeze out this leak of value chain simplified toys of limited articulation that would otherwise garner very little attention. But now the whole fan community is very intrigued by the toy representations of the new Evergreen designs Hasbro is now using. Below you can see the full reveal/leak of two of the four 4.5" simplified toys coming out in this line, Bumblebee and Optimus. These convert in about 4 steps. These images all come from the TFCN Facebook page.

Please tell me that two lines means centimeters and not inches

Inches.

This line will be AMAZING. For the little kids, of course. Because introducing young children to the classic designs of transformers can only be beneficial for the franchise's future.

... which is a good thing, because 1 inch is roughly 2.5 centimeters. So the figures will be roughly 11.25 centimeters tall, or right between current Legends and Deluxe Classes. By comparison, the Cyber Battalion figures with the same basic complexity are Voyager Class-sized.

I actually really like that Bee design. Wouldn't mind seeing it on a toy with the amount of effort that, say, RiD or Generations puts into theirs.

Inches, so these are basically oversized legion toys.

Totally agree! It's cool to see all the different design aspects from different Bumblebees. We get a robot mode more like the movie version with door wings, a G1-ish chest design and head sculpt, and the vehicle mode grill looks like it came straight from the TR figure.

Another thing to note: there's no line name to speak of, the "evergreen" designs are placed under the generic Transformers line, no subline what so ever. So, would this be TF 2017 now, after 2010 and 2014, or should we just forgo the years?

Trying to work out how Prime transforms he's a little more impressive than he appears. Sure, he doesn't have elbows, but his legs fold up rather than pull out so he does have knees. His arms pivot up from his waist to his shoulders which is more complex than you'd expect for a figure like this. I can't quite figure out where his head comes from, it might flip up from the real truck grill. It's a neat figure, the only thing I don't like (aside from the lack of elbows) is the front bumper sticking out from his hands.

Bee is alright too, the open windows are an interesting cost cutting choice, I like it.

While i like the look of these two, i do hope that these are not the toyline that will replace RID in 2018. They are nice for little kids, but they lack even elbow bend. I hope these oversized legends toys are not what replace the cool engineering that we get from RID.

They aren't dont worry. These are under the same generic "generations" banner as other toys that were unassociated to other lines. Since there isnt any actual show name on the cards, I am pretty sure this is not from whatever show comes after RID :)

Prime and Bee look crappy but that Grimlock on the previous page looks like a fun simple toy even if I just class it as an update of the old Pretender inner robot. One I'd probably have on the desk quite a lot.

These figures appear to be more streamlined and less clunky in their designs, and both appear to be better articulated than their Autobot counterparts. Oh my word that Megatron is perfect! Usually these smaller figures have a lot of design that is sacrificed for the sake of size and space, but not on these dudes! Only thing that bothers me is Starscreams hanging nosecone, wish that tucked away. Are these guys Legion/Legends class?

Just realized their alt mode are shown on the packaging, silly me. Ok, not too fond of starscream now. But wow i actually like megs. And his transformation seems similiar with the cyber batallion version, particularly the way the feet folds.

They are 4.5 inches which is about the same height as a standard Rescue Bot toy

Tread Shoulders are the new fashion trend for tanks this year 8-)

And o dear... unless it's an error, "Megatron" seemingly needed extra protection in the trademark department. The insert say "Autobot" or "Decepticon" before the name constantly, almost annoyingly so. It looks like this is to make names that need prefixes stand out less, as Megatron's "Decepticon" is missing the appropriate marker, thus making the full trademarked name "Decepticon Megatron"...

Megatron look pretty good, but Starscream look pretty "meh."

I'm curious why these guys get elbow-bend when the Optimus Prime and Bumblebee shown the the other day don't. Lack of elbow articulation, even in these smaller toys, is enough to prevent me from buying them.

Megatron's transformation looks just like the Legends Megatron/Warpath design. In the arms at least anyway. Interesting that his cannon is on his left arm.

All of these look interesting and fun. I don't mind simple, but man, I can't handle sarting a whole new collection of a different scale. :BOOM:

To all those wondering wha the scale is and how big they are, here is a perfect example. They are as big as the galvatron you see in the image below next to deluxe warpath.

Image

So yeah, small deluxes that wont scale with anything else. And if anyone of you also visits other forums, you might want to tell the TFW board members that since they look super confused over this.

Bumblebee would arguably work perfectly in the slightly-smaller-than-deluxe scale.

actually, if that is their size, then i think they will scale with RID warrior class. Warpath is a big deluxe if compared with non-chug toy nowadays. That galvatron is pretty much the same size as rid warrior class.

TRANSFORMERS fans... the more Chinese knock off level figures they target at 3-5 year olds, the more they just prepare them to grow up with the very figures we dislike. Do not purchase these for your children. Teach your children about quality, and to not just accept what is thrown at them.

What IS "Quality" though?
Because the point of these figures is to have simple transformers that are more complex and less "baby" looking than Rescue Bots. For a (allegedly) decent price.

Even parents have trouble transforming the standard movie deluxe. Also, those deluxes have tiny parts that detach and get lost very easily.

So those "evergreen" figures fit the specs necessary for it's target demographic. THAT is GOOD quality. The quality expected and asked for.
Only if those sell for the same price (or more expensive) than normal deluxes will they become of "bad" quality.

But didnt 80s kids grow up with simple TF toys that looked nothing like the show and were barely painted and lacked articulation?

Like this one?

Think of where we would be if parents didnt buy those?
I fail to see how these are any different.
