That's much better! After getting Aimless finally, I went ahead and swapped his arms with Blowpipe to give both much more original toy (and correct character model) accuracy. The gray plastics are a perfect match for lucky Blowpipe. The blue plastics aren't a perfect match for Aimless, though. Still, they coordinate very well with each other and the slight difference in hue I think actually makes Aimless look more defined as a figure, as opposed to having his entire torso and arms all be one uniform color with almost not other paint details or colors to break them up.
I intend keep buying these humanoid Battle Masters up, increasing my cache of weapons blast effects, Frankensteining together a nice Nightstick to go with the upcoming Ricochet, fixing up Firedrive with some proper gray parts instead of the stark white he has now, and using the left over pieces to make some original characters, perhaps. Unfortunatley, I'm at a loss as to how to "correct" Caliburst, other than to buy another Aimless, keep all his parts as factory assembled, and make him Caliburst, lol! The lack of pins on this size class and the modularity of the parts, including the gun barrels, is a customizer's dream come true.

I picked up Ironhide and he's yet another epic figure in this amazing line. So by when can we expect Ratchet? Is he suppose to be a Walgreen's release or is that still TBA?

The weaponizers in this line are weapon packs that can.combine into a robot.

So, this throws a wrench into a lot of my parts swapping plans. I'm going to have to look into repainting some of these figures instead to make the special characters I want. Does anyone know if these figures are made of the dreaded "unpaintable" plastic?

I only know of one confirmed case of POM or PA (aka nylon): Lionizer's black parts. I can't really tell which plastic is which, but here's a list of the most common types used plus some features:
Plastic on TFWiki.
Finally, POM and PA can still be painted, but with specialised paints I'd imagine. Ask at Game Workshop

Maybe we will further on in the WFC trilogy, along with the '87 Autobot Targetmasters we're still missing (and maybe hopefully the '88 Double Targetmasters).

Well, yes and no? Looking at mine, the gray parts are on a mushroom peg that connect to the black hinge parts. Looks like one could remove the blades but they'd be left with those black nubs on the sides. I haven't tried myself, but I've seen others have done it.Cyberpath wrote:So, are the blades "permanently" attached to Siege Megatron's gun?
Guess you'll have to open him to find out!
I saw you got him in another thread.

I'm hoping too because I've ended up with a mostly-complete set of the original Targetmaster characters via mostly Titans Return (and Combiner Wars for Cyclonus). Right now we're missing an update to the three new Autobot characters: Pointblank, Sureshot and Crosshair. As futuristic vehicles they'd work fine in the WFC trilogy.

Hasbro has developed an interesting conundrum with these. T30 Scoop did come with his 2 TM Partners, but obviously TR Quake did not. Then there's TFCC Needlenose & Spinister that did...but then again they were club exclusives.
I wonder if Hasbro would release 2 TM's in a pack as part of their Micromaster line? If for nothing else to get Quake his partners in some modern form. Then all we would need are modern updates of Landfill & Quickmix, along with their respective TM's.

I think Hasbro would also want to make a new Needlenose and Spinister for the people who couldn't get the Club ones (the majority of collectors), evident with how Needlenose was part of one of the options for the Siege fan poll.

Oh, I see. They're not supposed to come off but they can. I was hoping they could detach/attach like this...
Like, isn't this a major point to the whole Siege line?
Wish it were like that, strange choice from the HasTak designers.
And of course I opened the box right after taking that pic!

Sure, lamppost mode would probably be sacrificed, but I can see this fitting in with Siege. Bot mode is already G1ish, so they could just make bot mode more G1 and probably make the cassettes into bombs
That's not to say that I don't like SiegeWave's vehicle mode, I think it's quite cool.
I have been trying to find Siege Voyager Prime now to use the Target 25% off deal, but he is nowhere to be found now All I find is Wave 2 deluxes and Megatron, along with the Wave 1 leaders, Battlemasters, and Studio Series.
I swear, this happens to me all the time. Whenever I want something, I can no longer find it

Yeah, technically all figures (not just Transformers) are hand painted since it would be impractical to build a machine to automate the process for every single figure ever made. Even tampographs are applied by hand using a press. Brushed on battle damage like in the Siege line are free-form making each figure a little unique.

At my local Target, I was looking at the remnants of the recent toy sale. An employee walked by with a cart full of toys to be stocked and asked "Can I help you find something" -I pointed to the battle Masters, he scanned the code with his device and said "We have 3 in the back, but they will be from the same case..." I explained the possibility that there could be one unique one I was looking for, so he was happy to check, and wouldn't you know, ALL 3 were Pteraxadon. Now, despite the fact that my hunt was successful, THAT is how you do customer service. The employee was willing to learn, honest, knowledgeable, and friendly.

Glad to hear you got what you were looking for!
I've had some really good customer service experience with Target too. A month or so ago, when I was in a Target looking for the Studio Series Deluxes of Sideswipe, Clunker Bumblebee, and WWII Bumblebee, a really nice employee was willing to look in the back when I could only find Crankcase and Barricade on the self. I told him I was most interested in Sideswipe and described what he looked like. He came back with all three figures I needed, and new precisely which one was the one I wanted. I bought all three, of course! That's the kind of experience that makes me want to keep coming back to a store!

I love the Prime Master sitting in Ironhide's chest there. It gives it a nice little nod to the G1 toy's "face" too.

Sixgun makes a great jetpack, I think that's why I prefer him for combinations. Cog is really good no doubt! Sixgun makes for a better flightpack

Agreed, and Sixgun's colors match splendidly with his wavemate!

Haha, thanks for noticing! Just wait until I throw some Titan Masters in there!
I call this "Combinerhide"... still very floppy, but I can probably work something out with extra pieces.

I'm getting a lot more used out of SixGun. Especially for weapons.

Tell us how he colors on Sixgun match up with Takara Tomy's release of Metroplex. I have the SDCC version of Metroplex, and the reds are just a bit off from one another, but not enough to be distracting.

There can be only one. Siege Ironhide is absolutely fantastic. I’ve been trying to think of other characters aside from Ratchet it could be repainted into because it is so good, I want it many more times. Energon Tow Line might be a bit obscure for the main line, but it would be fun to see the homage get homaged.

I'm being selective about it. I ignore Siege figures if I already have CHUG versions I'm happy with as is the case with Universe 2.0 Sideswipe, the Universe 2.0 Datsun Boys, and T30 Chromia. However, if Siege makes a really obviously superior version of a character like Hound and Ironhide, I'll get them.

In my case, outside of Optimus Prime I had no '84-'85 Autobot character prior to Siege since I started during Titans Return. Since then I've gotten my hands on some of the mini-bots, namely Bumblebee, Cosmos and Brawn via their TR version and POTP Beachcomber.

Oh yeah, I still need Leader Prime too. Guess I wasn't considering it wave 2 since it's supposed to come out alongside the Wave 3s.

In the review he goes through the basics of transformation, scale to other transformer figures (namely Leader Class Galaxy Upgrade Optimus Prime, Deluxe Class Prowl, Studio Series Leader Class Jetfire and Studio Series Voyager Class Movie 1 Optimus Prime), all the points of articulation, and a run down on all the action points of the toy. This includes showing its interaction with other Siege figures and how Titan/Prime Masters can get in the fun via Jetfire's cockpit!
