Happy to help!

I totally understand getting the backpack for your kiddo and sticking with TRU, but for how much this figure is I want mine to arrive undamaged. Amazon has a much much better track record in the undamaged department for Transformers than TRU. I, knock on wood, have always received superior packing and shipping through Amazon.

Yup, the chrome chipping has started even before my opening him (the clear plastic rubber bands that kept his BFG in place was wrapped way too tight)namely on the BFG........a pest but minute issue.
Overall? What the other online reviewers are all spot on! You have got to see him to appreciate the mold/design. If the original henkei (great but limited by the stupid choice of scale and over sized helmet)gave us the 1st taste of a modern JF, this one leaves it biting the dust!
It is not perfect but MAN!!!!!!!! You must own one!
Btw, he ain't made in China anymore but in Vietnam like the recent Japanese Go! exclusives.
Another thing, his character bio seems to reflect his ROTF persona........so wrong!

Hide? Well he got stuck in the Arctic circle in the show and DW. In IDW he was already functional during the Thunderwing saga so I wonder where he hid?
Really? Who does those bios today? Is there no one like a Bob Budiansky to do it right?

It truly does NOT work at all.
I wonder if I could repaint them without having the whole paint chipping away in the future?

Is that a thing? Officially announced and everything? Because having to pay 60$ + taxes in store, might as well throw in another 20 to have a better looking version.

What an added scaling can do wonders. Already history but the previous Jet/Skyfire mold simply got hobbled by the Voyager scale.
Anyway back to the present. I was looking at how the designers flipped the design from the source "Valkyrie" mold.
Kawamori had the jet engines concentrated on the legs, the latest kind off used a flipped out Armoss Legios from Mospeada Genesis Climber design. The outer legs served as the housing while the arms served as the jet engines. but situated on the underbelly (Legios had the arms situated topside).
The almost seamless way the faux chest mounts on the "real" cockpit is just a stroke of genius!
It might be due to cost concerns, the "hollow" parts(fore arms, fist and thighs) could have easily been remedied, kind of distracting.
Again, resurrecting one design that the henkei version had an advantage is that its fist is a separate rotatable part. It would have been even more awesome if the fist could be collapsed in the arm (like the original Bandai Valkyrie).
And the connecting pegs on the cockpit, I'd wish it were made from a more durable material........(maybe die-cast?), it kind of a concern somewhere down the road.
Sorry about the ventilating (the positives btw far outstrips the negatives)
Now the positives............the jet mode is soooooooooooooooo AWESOME! Just needing the reprolable detail upgrades for all the white spaces. Cockpit for the pilots are also detailed (off course not to the level of the SOC Bandai or the Yamato/Arcadia Valkyrie) but it does the work). Overall, it again reminds me of the Armoss Legios merged with the F-14 Tomcat........same enjoyment but at a lesser price.
Surprising aspects:
For age 8 up right? The cockpit has a sharp pointy end. The G1 Seekers have rubberized tips. Were the first release any less sharper?
Spring mounted missile on his gun. It's good, just like the recent Roadbuster. I wonder what brought about this change in toy feature design?

After HLJ lowered its price, I crunched the numbers and came to a conclusion that both versions (Hasbro v Takara) will cost me the same after shipping fees, possibly down to the dollar.
So I guess it's down to which version I like better, and how soon I want it (Sep v Dec)? Wish we had some non stock photos of the Takara version.

Jetfire is ancient and powerful, but he would prefer to stay hidden in the background rather than on the front lines. He is a peaceful robot at heart, preferring the stately, ordered excitement of science to the frenzy of battle. But the reckless ambition of the Decepticons, and the senseless violence of their war sickened him, so he left Cybertron to go into hiding. He slumbered in peace for years. Reawakened by the arrival of the war on Earth, he decided once again to enter the fight – this time on the side of the Autobots, and this time to end it for good, whatever the cost.
Convert, arm and attack with all the Transformers action you can handle! This Jetfire figure is a high-powered Autobot fighter whether he's in robot mode or supercharged jet mode. He'll be a match for any enemy in robot mode, and he’ll fire his arm-mount cannons at his Decepticon foes! When he converts to fast-flying mode, his turbo thrusters will make him too fast for any enemy to escape, and his photon missile launchers will pound them to scrap when he catches them! Keep converting him back and forth so he can handle whatever his foes dish out!
Transformers and all related characters are trademarks of Hasbro.

3 years ago I had issues ordering stuff for in store pick up. In the last 3 years I have placed over a hundred orders with Kmart and had no issues.
They have been pretty spot on.

Jetfire, has his own case assortment and will be the first figure in this assortment so he'll be a sure bet.

You've been pretty lucky. A year and a half ago they sent me Prime Knockout when I'd ordered Prime Kup.
The "only figure in its own assortment" thing is the only making it "safe" to order via K-Mart.

Seibertron wrote:Jetfire will be easy to get from Kmart because he won't be part of the same case assortment as anyone else. The problem with Kmart is that with their ordering system, all Voyager class figures in a product line are the same toy. Their system doesn't differentiate between Voyager Class Optimus Prime and Voyager Class Grimlock. It does, however, differentiate between Voyager Class toys from different lines so Generations Voyagers like Springer, Soundwave, Blaster, Sandstorm, Rhinox, etc won't get mixed up with AOE Voyagers, but they will get mixed up with themselves.

You are safe since the box just contains one figure? Good then.

Meaning multiples of one figure? Then yes. Jetfire is shipped in a so-called "solid case", meaning no other figure is part of the same wave.

I was hoping for a few leader class Bumblebees in that case to spice things up. Like 3 to 1. :/

The original toy is an amazing toy. But the Classics figure is extremely inferior to the new Generations toy. I was never a fan of the Classics Jetfire toy between its oversized helmet and difficulty with posing its upper legs in a position that doesn't look awkward. The new toy, while it has some flaws, is far superior to the Classics version.

Kimosabe, you have to actually get a hold of it, transform it first before you judge. You won't be sorry RP. Really! Of course Tomy/Hasbro had to do some modifications with the transform sequence............it floors the henkei version but as stated in my post it's a mix between the Kawamori Valkyrie's transform sequence and the Mospeada Armos type. Fully transformed, the fuselage is almost seamless.
If I have a complaint, it's that we can't collapse the fist into the arm like the original Macross design. In the henkei, it's like Jetfire just flips his arms down (still to it's sides)while this version, the arms are folded into the mid fuselage.
Get it while you can........satisfaction guaranteed!
