Episode #143 "The Hangover: Hascon Edition" is available directly and in our RSS Feed and should appear on iTunes, and Stitcher Radio within 24 to 48 hours of when you see this news post.
Oh Botcon, has it already been 2 weeks since we bid adieu? Wait, hang on, before we start let me grab some Advil...this Botcon hangover is a doozy.
So I'm sure you've listened to our Botcon road trip episodes already, but we decided to take another short trip down memory lane to recap our favorite and most anticipated figures that came out of the Hasbro booth this year.
Wasting no time at all, it was discovered that Hasbro has filed a new trademark, HASCON. Hmmm, I think we all know what this means.
One of the highlights of Botcon 2016 was the one and only Judd Nelson. His Q&A panel certainly did not disappoint.
Of course, to the excitement of pretty much everyone, Casino Night was brought back this year...along with.... BINGO! Some of the twincast, might have been having a bit too much fun at the auction that night.
To top things off, the twincast decided to share some of their funniest moment from the weekend.
To totally change things up, we throw you a curve ball and jump into a round of Botcon bragging rights. Tune in to hear what our favorite con finds were.
Takara decided to tease up with an image of what looks to be MP Inferno. Is this really just a tease or will there soon be a big red fire truck sitting on our MP selves?
So in other news, Paramount is full steam ahead with Hasbro's cinematic universe. Do you think something like this will work with the Hasbro brands, like it does for DC and Marvel? You'll have to listen in to hear what we think.
Then out of nowhere, we finally have some updates (if you can even call it that) from Machinima about their upcoming Combiner Wars cartoon.
Up next, we head on over to the boards for a listener question. Thanks Amelie!
We close out this episode with some discussion on the upcoming mobile game Transformers: Earth Wars
Well, that wraps things up for another episode! We really hope you enjoyed listening.
Don't forget, the show only gets better if you tell us how. Drop us a review on iTunes and be sure to tell us what you love, what you hate, and what you want to hear!
Not on the show to give your take? Probably not, so don't forget to keep the discussion going on the Seibertron.com Energon Pub Forums by simply replying to this post!
Got a question for the Twincast? We take all of them, we just don't take them all seriously! Leave a question in the Ask the Twincast thread and, if it makes the cut, it may get read and answered on the show.

That said, I would love for UW Groove to be redone as Wreck-Gar.

However, at the last Celebration and SDCC, there wasn't much in the way of toys shown, so I could be very wrong about that.
I think there's probably enough cross over between Transformers, GI JOE, Marvel, Star Wars, and Pony fans that having them all together at one con wouldn't really be that big of a deal. Comic Cons don't usually see a battle between Marvel and DC fans. Or even Trek vs Wars.
That being said, I would hope with any Hascon that no one brand gets short shafted. I can see GI JOE being relatively ignored now that the brand team has been disbanded and the line pretty much dead. That would suck if it happened.
As for exclusives at a Hascon, I think this would be perfect for things like an Artfire and Ricochet 2 pack using Generations Inferno and RtS Jazz or a Powered Convoy repaint of CW Magnus. I thought I'd have some great ideas and I'm totally blanking right now.
Then there could also be a shared exclusive between all the brands that would be Mach Kick painted like Rainbow Dash. It would come a saddle so Duke, dressed in the yellow & blue of the old X-Men uniforms could ride on it. and there'd be a special side basket for a BB-8 in Optimus Prime colors.

See, I don't think this would be within their interest for a Hasbro convention any more than Star Wars. I'm sure they'd show some toys but I'd think the purpose would be to celebrate brands that they're the purveyors of in most every form. This could even include new stuff they're trying to push like Micronauts (assuming it gets toys?)RodimusConvoy13 wrote:Marvel

"What you talkin' bout Todd? Takara done did this."
Best idea. Though honestly I think if Mach-Kick's mold were available the Funpub incarnation of TFCC would've tried to do at least a pony out of it.RodimusConvoy13 wrote:Then there could also be a shared exclusive between all the brands that would be Mach Kick painted like Rainbow Dash. The thing I am not sure though, is if there will still be a dealer room. If this is an event covered by the actual brand owner then those usually have exhibitors rather than dealers. You would pay for your ticket and experience the show (which would have more activities the whole family could enjoy) and have its own merchandise.
Another thing, I like Scotty talking about this toy brand branching out. Its pretty evident that this is the case with the film making over a billion dollars. More people have seen the films than own the toys, I am pretty certain of that. This tells me that, while I will personally always look at this brand as toys first, the Tansformers brand is bigger than its ever been and it is no longer about the toys. I mean, think if it this way, the movies dont exist to sell the toys, they make their money off the ticke sales. The toys are now just merchandise to the film's release, as is the case with any comic book or star wars film.
And Congrats on that great deal on Megatron Claire!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Dont listen to the haters.
PS: We already got MLP to share the screen with Traformers:

We saw the first hints of this with TF: Prime where the toys were an afterthought for them, not really coming out in earnest for, I don't remember, but a long darn time after the show's premiere. Age of Extinction really went this route though, with most of the toy line being closer to merchandise rather than collectible.william-james88 wrote:This tells me that, while I will personally always look at this brand as toys first, the Transformers brand is bigger than its ever been and it is no longer about the toys. I think RiD has had a pretty nice balance of it with even a lot of the redecos (outside of Bee, who sells so whatever) being things you'll actually find in the show. Regardless, would I love to see some more of the unique Decepticons in Warrior Class or even some gift sets of Underbite/Vehicon repaints as a "toy" guy myself. I don't think bots like Hammerstrike or Filch are happening though, which is a shame, but at least there's hope for stuff like Groundpounder since there's a Legion version incoming.

I have the whole haul posted over here, in case people need more Alpha Bravo in their lives.
(I need to take two more photos, actually, once Burcham's piece arrives..)
As for Hascon, I partially agree with what Jon was saying, in terms of crossover guests. And it makes perfect sense to have big names like Blum, Strong, Friedle jump in and out of something like that. I do feel, also tying in to the message ScottyP just posted above, that the toys would mostly become accessory to the event, or shift the SDCC focus a little - but there could easily be scope for a TF dedicated club of sorts again, in that case (maybe leave ideas here?).
