In what's probably no surprise to everyone here, KB has announced that it plans to close anywhere from 141 to 238 stores before January 31st, 2005 in an effort to "trim the fat" during it's Chapter 11 bankruptcy.
See the original press release
here, the list of stores which are definitely closing
here, and finally the remaining set which "may or may not" close,
here.
It is a sad thing, indeed. Even if they were pricey.

This isn't the sort of thing that we normally post in the news section, but it's so awesome that we here at the News Crew felt we just had to share it with everyone!
Created by an very talented chap who goes by the name of Jarrod, this is an incredible, fully transformable, fully poseable War Within Optimus Prime action figure! You can view several photos of this awesome figure
here, and for those kitbashers amongst you, a page detailing how the figure was built is
here.

Don Murphy has posted the following on his Transformers Discussion forum:
We have a screenwriter that we are all very excited about.
He fits all my dream parameters- he knows the mythology, is very POP in his writing, is the right age (20s) and shops at my comic book shop regularly so I know him at least a little bit. The deal is being ironed out as we speak so I cannot say more- but with him involved we can stay on target for Summer 06 and create an amazing fun film. More as it happens.
There are also a few other tidbits posted by Don today.
In response to questions regarding the tone of the movie:
Cannot promise DARK but will make it Darkish
Will be epic for sure
And definitely not Kiddie I want the Star wars audience man (the good films)
&
There already is a template worked on with Spielberg that exists but no full story structure.
So there you have it - expect to hear more details in the not too distant future!

time. Both Optimus and Megatron are the largest figures in the line and
both look fantastic! Many of the other figures in this line are equally
as cool so be sure to check out each of the 11 figures we have pre-orders
listed for so far on the pre-order menu:
http://www.bigbadtoystore.com/pre_menu.asp

restocked. We also have Ben, Max, and Miriya in stock for the reduced
price of $39.99 each.

check out the new pre-orders and items.

It looks like the first character difference between Hasbro's Alternators line and Takara's Binal Tech line is upon us! Online stores
Big Bad Toy Store and
Digital Toys have both posted listings stating that the Honda S2000 figure already confirmed as Windcharger by Hasbro will be called
Overdrive in Japan! Digital Toys have advised me that this information is from Takara themselves, and as such can be considered confirmed!

As the excitement over Galaxy Force builds, Japan's TV-Aichi have put their official Galaxy Force TV website online. As present, it only contains a flyer that was handed out at the Transformers Innovation event this weekend, but it will surely update with more information over time. You can view the site (in it's original Japanese)
