The Facebook page Transformers Overdrive has some new images of the upcoming Earthrise figures. These are rather important since they are the first images we have of the finished figures. The ones we saw before were sometimes painted samples and 3D renderings. Since we know the deluxes boxes are all the same size, we can see the size difference between Cliffjumper and the rest. He does seem to be around the size of Studio Series Jazz. Other elements to notice is the decision to give Wheeljack's window chest a square look rather than a rounded/tapered one. Also, it seems the battle damage isn't over yet since Hoist sports that on this chest. We see all the wave 1 deluxe toys in packaging and out of the packaging as well as the back of their boxes.
Let us know what you think and if you preordered them yet (they are available for ordering at practically every collectible online store right now). These are priced the same as the Siege deluxes.

It's not every day (or month or year or decade) that Wendy's gets Transformers toys in their kids meals. So since I found some better images online, I thought it would be a good idea to share them. Especially since these are a rather new way to make a promotional Transformers toy. Animated was the lat time Hasbro allowed transforming toys to be sold by anyone other than them, so promotions had to find something else for gimmicks. We had launchers, wind up toys, even eye wear and now with Wendy's we have the idea of customizing a chibbie version of classic G1 characters and Windblade. Each figure comes with a plastic body where different cardboard limbs and faced can be attached. This can create different expressions and poses. Plus, craft people can make their own limbs for fun. The results can be quite cute. The promotion has hit the official website. Just picked them up. I always enjoy Wendy's crafty toys. I like the multiple arms, and faces. Sure the legs could be better if they were not skinny, but quality-wise and fun factor for the price they are pretty neat.
The paint is surprising good for a kids meal toy.

Seibertron.com forum member and frequent contributor, chuckdawg1999, has brought us a video review of the latest and last wave of Battle Masters from the Transformers Generations: War for Cybertron Trilogy - Siege line, due out by the end of 2019! One of the featured figures is Singe, another classic G1 Targetmaster partner for Spinister, along with Shrute (née Hairsplitter), who was available in the Decepticon Phantomstrike Squadron Multipack, an Amazon.com exclusive released earlier this year. Deluxe Class Spinister himself will be showing up any time now in the final Deluxe Class wave for Siege. Our old pal Chuck shows off Battle Master Singe compared to his Autobot mold mate Firedrive, noting the paint differences and new "blast effects," redecoed in green from Battle Master Aimless. The other new figure is none other than Rung, a newer Transformers character who debuted in IDW's Transformers comics from over the past decade and a half. This is an all new mold, not shared with any other Battle Master, and the face sculpt is an amazing likeness to the character as portrayed in the IDW comic books. Enjoy Chuck's video below:

It's not every day Transformers toys make the news. But several people have written in to let us know of this major bust in Alberta Canada where the authorities in Medicine Hat arrested a 37-year-old man after a six-week-long investigation into fraudulent transactions that targeted a number of big retailers in Alberta and Saskathewan, such as Walmarts.
The bust includes many figures you'd recognize, such as many from the Siege line, like Shockwave, and even G1 reissues like Devastator. the items seized tallies up to a worth of over $30,000 in Canadian dollars (which is equal to 300 Devastator sets). The perpetrator has been arrested for fraud and theft. What he would do was make his own bar codes of much lower prices to scan at the self check out. This criminal strategy has been used in the past for Lego sets, and also lead to arrests.
Charles Dale Glasier was taken into custody on November 7 by the Medicine Hat Police Service.
Investigators recovered over $30,000 worth of items, consisting mainly of Transformers action figure toys and a variety of DVDs and DVD box sets. The property is believed to have been taken from stores in Medicine Hat, Calgary, Lethbridge, Taber, Brooks, Drumheller and Swift Current.
Police believe Glasier obtained the items directly from retailers by fraudulent means for a fraction of their regular price. Officials say he was intending to sell the items for profit.
Glasier has been charged with one global count of fraud over $5,000 and possession of stolen property over $5,000. He is currently in custody awaiting a bail hearing.

MP-46 Blackwidow (aka Beast Wars Blackarachnia) is only a two weeks away from being released and we are now getting some in hand pics. We only have the robot mode for now and it is slightly mistransformed. The belly, for instance, should not have the spider eyes on it. We will share a better image below to show you what it looks like. Also, since people had asked, we take the opportunity to show the difference between initial images of the spider mode and a recent image which shows it much cleaner and more put together. We knew Scorponok was coming for a while and we saw the headmaster unit at NYCC 2019. However, Vector Sigma on Facebook gave the footage another look and checked to see what else they could gather from what was presented. They took one of Seibertron's screenshots showing the back of the larger headmaster (so Scorponok's titan head), reoriented it and coloured it to see which style they were going for. As it turns out, the visor we see means titan class Scorponok, who is a double headmaster this time like Fortress Maximus, will be sporting his head from "Rebirth". This is also the look he had in the Marvel UK comics. It's very different to the Japanese Head Masters cartoon which went for the more toy accurate look of separate eyes coming from the smaller head.
This of course makes sense since Hasbro's colours and designs as of late have been more inspired by the US cartoon rather than the toys.

We recently posted news about upcoming figures, one of them being a voyager Quintesson. A fan who claims to already have this figure chimed in to give a better description of the toy, due to all the wild speculation that was going on in the fanbase. Now it could be that this is another Quintesson figure for a different line, we really don't know. All we know is we have further info on an upcoming Quintesson figure, which sounds to be rather simplistic in design.
UPDATE: An anonymous source has stated that they do have an attack/cannon mode that requires some sort of reconfiguration. So there is a transformation aspect to it, but it's possible that the initial source either didn't know of that possibility or didn't think it was worth mentioning (or would count as transforming). We'll see.

And now, something intended for the younger Transformers fans. Via online listings from Smyth's Toys, in the U.K., we have two new playsets of Rescue Bots Wedge, and Hoist. While the two individual toys look to be different molds, the "Command Center" parts of these playsets seem to be simple remolds of each other. They also share a light up feature in the crane arm of each Command Center.
There's no word on when these sets will be available in the U.S. (a quick search of Amazon didn't show any listings for these), but keep your eyes peeled if you're a fan of this line. And as always stay tuned to Seibertron for the latest in Transformers news!

Listings on Hasbro China's official Taobao store supposedly leaked a lot of new info and have since been taken down. We cannot confirm if everything below is true, so we will take it as rumours for now. The new figures listed are some we knew were coming, like deluxe Runamuck and Titan Scorponok as well as Movie Masterpiece toys Starscream and Ratchet (this is not the first time we hear of these). However, there was also a listing for a commander class Skylynx, which makes perfect sense for that size class, as well as two Quintesson themed listings. One is for a voyager class Quintesson and another is for a deluxe class Quintessa. Both would be for the Earthrise line. Below is what fellow Seibertronian Sabrblade posted on our boards, including the direct source of these rumours on Weibo.

Thanks to our own ScottyP, we have word that the latest wave of Cyberverse Warrior Class figures is currently out at retail in the U.S.! They were found at a Walmart in Raleigh, North Carolina, for the near bargain price of $11.92. Scotty sent us photo proof of Jetfire on the shelves, and let us know that his wavemates Drift and a new-mold Bumblebee were also available.

Many Canadians recieved the Toysrus catalogue within the past week or so. While the Transformers are not headliners like last year (since no movie came out this year), they are still represented with some good sales. Several are 20% off. The most important are the two brick and mortar exclusive Siege sets; the Refraktor 3 pack and the Seeker 3 pack which have a spotlight deal for themselves of 20$ off (even though it is still 20% off like the rest). The deals on Transformers (and many other toys) end November 20. Oddly enough, the voyager class is not on sale.
Toysrus is going all out this year for the holiday season. Their Transformers stock is filled to the brim, taking up the entire side of a row. Omega Supreme and other big ticket items are in stock and the entire store is decorated for a festive look. They also have many activities planned until Christmas with the main one being a visit from Santa Clause next week-end (check here to see when Santa comes to your store).

We have been getting a few sightings of these out in the US. These are keychains of G1 Transformers characters. The characters include Megatron, Optimus, Bumblebee and Soundwave and even have that nice checkers G1 card background. They of course cannot transform. The sightings were reported on the Cybertron Cafe Facebook page, here is one post for instance, and the sightings come from Pennsylvania and Maryland, just to give some examples.
These were found at Dollar Tree stores in the US, so the question remains, would you buy that for a dollar?

Entertainmanet Earth has just listed some new preorders. These are all for the ReAction line which is not made by Hasbro. These are officially licensed toys meant to be a nostalgic throwback to late 70s action figures, like Stars Wars, where there are only 5 articulation point. So far, each Transformers figure has given a nice representation of the show models. What's fun about this new batch is that it includes Blaster, who was an action master back in G1 as well (that is the toy pictured in the tumbnail). Here are the listings:

Seibertron.com: Are there any pieces featured in A Visual History that were brand new to you even after all your years of deep curation and involvement with Transformers?
Jim Sorenson: Oh, absolutely. That's part of the joy of a project like this one. Much of the production artwork from Chapter 5, “The Films,” is from deep in the vaults. To my knowledge no one outside of Hasbro or Paramount has ever seen much of the material presented here.
Seibertron.com: If yes, any that stand out for any particular reason, perhaps due to their being a surprise discovery or something that has a fun story around how it was discovered?
Jim Sorenson: A couple of pieces come to mind. On page 269, we have a couple of Rescue Bots sketches that are just brimming with emotion. They really capture the feel of the series, and I'm delighted that we found room to include them. On page 346, there's an important piece of movie concept art called The Ice Man, by James Clyne. It's one of the first pieces that Michael Bay fell in love with and helped set the visual language for the entire film franchise. The challenge for the production staff was that it's a portrait piece, and of course films are landscape, so they had to figure out how to translate this piece to the big screen.
Seibertron.com: Are there some new items or surprises in this upcoming book that most fans haven't seen before?
Jim Sorenson: Yup! Tons. I won't give away all the surprises, but we've got the never-before-seen alternate modes for Elita-One and Orion Pax from the original series episodes The Search for Alpha Trion and War Dawn, which I'm super proud to bring to the light of day. You'll find them on page 226, in the “Animation” chapter. There's also an amazing sketch by Doug Heart, who did virtually all of the Beast Wars package art, for a 15th anniversary box set that would have included Beast Wars and G1 toys. Alas, it never came to be, but you can see the art here for the first time on page 44.
Seibertron.com: Was there a particular piece that was difficult to come across or that you hadn't seen before?
Jim Sorenson: There were several pieces that I fought hard to procure. On page 334 we've got the promo art from BotCon 1997, High Stakes, which was my very first Transformers convention. It's a gorgeous piece by Andrew Wildman, who was my very first favorite Transformers artist, with modern colors and inks by JP Bove and Stephen Baskerville. There's also a couple of images on pages 106-107 featuring the Siege Starscream vehicle and robot artwork that was a very late addition that I advocated passionately for, because I'd realized we were a little light on both Siege and Starscream. Two birds and one stone later and it's an absolutely gorgeous spread. And you wouldn't believe the lengths I went to in order to procure the Pat Lee Back to the Eighties piece originally published in Wizard Magazine. (Suffice to say, a former editor had to dig it out of a semi-inactive email account.)
Seibertron.com: Of all of the artwork shown in this book, what piece stands out to you the most as your personal favorite?
Jim Sorenson: Which of my children do I love the most, you ask? Jeepers. I'm not even going to attempt to pick a single favorite. But some pieces that have great personal meaning for me are the classic Shockwave cover to Marvel #5, my first comic book EVER, on page 127, a two-page spread of every Gobots character ever in Cybertronian bodies on 294-295 that I commissioned when I was working with the fan club, and a series of Transformers homages to classic comic covers on pages 208-209 headlined by a Liefeld-on-Liefeld recreation of the cover to New Mutants #87 he did for the Dark Cybertron storyline.
Questions pertaining to the Transformers franchise:
Seibertron.com: Since the scale charts shown in The Complete Ark do not address it, how large do you think the individual Scramble City style combiner characters are in relation to other established characters? Are the individual limbs similar in size to the ‘84 cars? Are the torso characters Optimus Prime and Megatron sized? Would enjoy hearing your thoughts on this debate!
Jim Sorenson: This feels like a question that would require research to answer well. WITHOUT having done said research, my gut is that guys like Motormaster are as big as a large Autobot car (think Ironhide Trailbreaker, five meters according to the internal scale guides) and that limbs are probably closer to regular car height, about four meters. But the real answer is that these guys are whatever size the plot required.
Seibertron.com: What was it like to come up with fiction for the TFCC (Transformers Collectors Club) characters? Is there any story that stands out to you as a favorite, or that you're particularly proud of?
Jim Sorenson: Incredibly satisfying. There's something magical about starting with a blank page and building up the robot zombie apocalypse 500 pages later. I think the last two Beast Wars Uprising stories, Derailment (a 179-page novel!) and The Inexorable March, stack up favorably to any other Transformers fiction you might care to read.
Seibertron.com: What's your favorite aspect of the franchise?
Jim Sorenson: The community it has generated. I've got friends on all four corners of the globe, and I'd never have met most of them if not for the incredible franchise that is The Transformers.
Seibertron.com: Transformers fans miss their time with Jim Sorenson at past BotCons! Will you be signing books anywhere in the future or when can fans get some time with you?
Jim Sorenson: I try to keep my dance card full, but I've got no specific plans I can announce yet. This year I did TFCon in Burbank, NYCC in Manhattan, Bubonicon in my hometown of Albuqurque, and TFNation in the United Kingdom. Fingers crossed I'll be able to maintain a similar schedule for 2020.
