The Holiday season sales have started! Today we were pointed toward some new toy sales from the Kmart Australia Holiday toy catalogue by user and almighty Admin Burn that span multiple Transformers lines, from Combiner Wars, to Rescue Bots, to Titans Return. Check out the advert for the sale below, including specials on the Combiner Wars G2 Bruticus set, and Titans Return Deluxes and Voyagers. Transformers have been strangely absent from most stores' holiday catalogues this year, so it's refreshing to finally see a full-page ad from a major retailer.
Tell us in the comments below if you jumped on any of these specials, and if you find any Transformers sales in the coming days, please send them our way via our Contact page!

Via fellow Seibertronian Madeus Prime, we have a new clip featuring mostly old footage, about the relationship between Paramount's live-action Transformers movies and IMAX. Embedded below, you can see some clips of the past four movies, from the 2007 one to Revenge of the Fallen, to Dark of the Moon and Age of Extinction, in preparation for The Last Knight, due summer 2017. Commentary by Greg Foster, CEO of IMAX entertainment, director Michael Bay, Lorne Orleans.
The kick? There is actually some very new footage in here, from the fifth film, featuring knigts, explosions, Cybertronian terrain, Bumblebee and Barricade, and more. Check it out!

Yes you read that right. We are talking about Transformers Combiner Wars Wave 2 from over a year ago. Cases of the wave 2 revision wave (which also includes Dragstrip) were found at a UK chain called Guess How Much? for £6.99. The photo with Dragstrip comes from their Doncaster store. You can click here to go to their store locator to see if you have one near you.
You will notice in the photo evidence that these come with the comics and were thus not initially meant for UK distribution. Instead, these are grey imports, which means they weren't brough over by Hasbro UK but by another importer.
It's similar to how BBTS imports platinum editions from China and sells them for a similar price to the exclusive US retailer. It is also called parallel importing.
The fan who gathered all this news for us, TFW2005 member Payres, explains it better in the following quote:
A "grey import" is a toy that's been imported into the UK by a firm other than Hasbro themselves.
This usually means there's a sticker somewhere on the packaging saying "imported by" and naming the firm.
This particular firm has a record for this sort of thing going back to the mid 90s, maybe earlier
Grey Imports are frequently left over stock from another region so the boxes/cards for the toys are usually not the standard ones for the UK. Sometimes it's hard to tell but there's a dead giveaway here as these CW toys have the comics which the UK versions didn't. Last year lots of chains got cases of T30 Voyagers in stock, which we never got here.
Generally grey imports are sold to discount chains such as TK Maxx, Home Bargains and B&M. The discount chain mentioned here is a new one on most people. However at this time of year, when shelf turnover is high, they can end up in normal retail stores.
How widespread it is outside the UK I haven't a clue!

While he remains the only figure of Titans Return Wave 3 to not get a youtube review, some interesting news comes from fellow Seibertronian Bumblebee21 - a listing on Taobao.com for a prototype of the upcoming Leader-Class Sixshot. At the time of writing he is currently going for around 144 US Dollars; and even if you're not considering bidding yourself, it's certainly interesting to see pictures of the figure's prototype. Category:Movie News Posted by:D-Maximal_Primal | Credit(s): Alberta Film Classifications, Ontario Film Authority Topic Options: View Discussion · Views: 33,267 Transformers: The Last Knight has teased its IMAX trailer for some time now. And it looks like it's about time for that teasing to pay off.
We bring to you a pair of news closely related regarding the upcoming IMAX trailer. The first piece of news is that the trailer has been officially classified by Alberta Film Classifications. Alberta Film Classifications is a very reliable site with regards to film and trailer classifications, and they usually classify a film that is set to show a trailer within 1 week. The classification reads:
Transformers: The Last Knight (IMAX exclusive trailer)
Rated: PG (the trailer, not the film)
Classification date: 11/15/2016
Running time: 2:01
Distributor: Paramount Pictures
Coupling onto that, we also bring to you news that the trailer will be available online at some poit in time after its IMAX release. This can be proven by an internet classification by the Ontario Film Authority. Unlike the Alberta Film Classifications listing, we have no idea when the internet trailer will be released; all we can say for sure is that it will be sometime after the IMAX trailer. You can find the classification information below:
Date Classified: Nov 15, 2016
Film Number: 2000130300
Distributor / Submitter / Exhibitor: PARAMOUNT PICTURES ENTERTAINMENT CANADA ULC
Running Time (min): 2
Format: INTERNET
Language: ENGLISH
Classification: PARENTAL GUIDANCE
Detailed Observations: Restrained portrayals of non-graphic violence
As a closer, we can give you a good guess as to which IMAX film might carry this trailer. For all you Harry Potter fans out there, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them may very well be the source of this first trailer for The Last Knight.
Now that you have the low-down, tell us what you think in the comments section below of this news!

After Titans Return Sawback which is really Lione, fellow Seibertronian chuckdawg1999 has shared with us video reviews for the rest of Wave 3's Titan Masters: Ptero, which is really Swoop, Fangry, one of the original Headmaster Juniors, and Overboard, which is really Overkill! You can check out the three clips embedded below along with a brief comment, and join the conversation in the Energon Pub.
Fangry is an homage to one of the old school Headmaster Juniors. It's a fun figure in its two beast modes, but the weapon mode falls a little short. If you're looking to complete the extended Headmaster line, this is a must.
Overboard is the third use of the Crashbash mold and a homage to the old cassette Overkill. Unlike Clobber, Overboard is a straight repaint of Crashbash, which I really don't mind. This is an easy pass in this wave.
Ptero is Swoop, lets get that out of the way first. Ptero is also a pretty nifty little Titan Master, with probably the most interesting weapon mode. Funny enough, I've been told the vehicle mode looks a bit like Thanos' throne, so hey, crossover!

From Italian agency Phasar, we have news of a new book that fleshes out some more of the weird history of toys released in Italy pre-dating the anglophone world's arrival onto the scene: the Ferrareses' Dieci Anni nel Paese delle Meraviglie ('Ten Years in Wonderland'). If you don't know of the various claims to fame from different companies as to 'who had Transformers first', if you think the whole thing was hilarious, if you just want to find out more - and if you can read Italian - this is probably the book for you! Check out the blurb and its English translation (from yours truly) below, including the salty contents about Hasbro.
